Hello everyone and welcome to 2017! With the start of the new year comes the start of new things and fresh ideas. I have been giving this some thought and I would like to introduce a new inspirational series section to the blog. Once a week I will write an inspirational blog on a certain theme or topic as well as any other blogs I might come up with here and there.
Just to be clear, I am a Christian and when doing these inspirational blogs I will be using verses from the bible to back me up. Consider this as a heads up to some people out there.
Let’s get on with it shall we? Alright!
As the title suggests this weeks topic is talents/gifts. Have you ever gone about your life and was super passionate about something that you wish you could share it with the world? Or you could be on the opposite end and have something great bottled up that you could do to help benefit others but you feel that for some reason that you aren’t good enough or the thing you are doing isn’t good enough to be shown. This is where you’re wrong. You have to invest into what your passionate about and what you are talented in. You must have the confidence that what you can do can and will influence rhe world and then go out and show them. For instance, in the bible, the book of Matthew ch 25 verse 14, Jesus is telling a parable of the talents.
“For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away.”
It goes on to say that the man who was given five talents took those talents and invested in them, making five more talents. The next person who had received two talents, took those talents and invested in them creating two more talents. The one who had only one talent however, was too scared that he would mess things up and lose the talent he was given and went and buried it in the ground.
We can’t be the person who buries our talents in the ground. If we did that we would be doing no one any favours. We need to start blessing people wirh our talents. When we do this, we will bless ourselves in return. This is how they got more talents in return after investing what they already had into other people.
Now let’s think. What is a talent that you have that would benefit or bring joy to others? Do not think that you are not capable of doing it or you are not good enough because you are. Do not let the negative thoughts influence you to miss out on blessing others and blessing yourself. My talent that I’m most passionate about is of course my writing. I really need to write more so other people can enjoy and be blessed by what I write. I know I can help encourage those around me with my writing, I just don’t write enough. This is either due to writers block or just simply procrastination. But I urge everyone to find something they are passionate about and share it with the world! You never know how many people you will make happy when you do this.
That’s all for this week. Tune in next week for a new inspirational topic!
